Taylor

Owner, LPN

Hi there! My names Taylor, and I am the founder of Mama Bear & Newborn Care. I have been a Newborn and Postpartum Night Nurse for over 5 years. I grew up in Pennsylvania where I worked as a Pediatric LPN until my family moved to North Carolina in 2019. I truly believe I found my calling when I became a Postpartum Nurse. I have a passion for helping parents build confidence, understanding, and know-how during the newborn stage, and develop skills and tricks that they can return to time and time again. My ultimate goal, aside from rest and recovery, is to give you the confidence and education you need to meet all of your babies' needs.

Empowering families during the fourth trimester has been my absolute joy and passion for the past 5 years. I am currently in the process of studying for my boards to be able to also add IBCLC to my resume. Infant feeding and sleep are areas of particular interest to me and I have spent many hours learning as much as I can about these topics. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family including two beautiful grandchildren, trail running and reading. My advice to new parents is to always trust your intuition, I love providing education and support to help make this a reality.

Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist

Hi families! I am a postpartum doula and advanced newborn care specialist. I have always felt passionate about working with postpartum families and families integrating a new baby into their home. I initially settled into working with young infants in the child care field. During this time, I realized I can offer families so much more support by working one on one with them. This is what led me to turn that passion into my career. The first few months of life with a newborn is a huge transition and I am here to make that time a little more peaceful. My ultimate goal as your doula/newborn specialist is to share my positivity and knowledge to leave you feeling empowered and confident!

Postpartum Doula

Hi! I'm Rachel, a trained postpartum doula and an aspiring birth doula. I received my training through DONA International and am continuing my training in the birth world. I worked as a nanny for over two years. It was during this time I decided to become a postpartum doula in order to assist families during one of the most exciting times of their lives. Since starting postpartum work, my hope for our community has become much clearer. My hope is to use all of my training, experience, and passion to help you throughout this new journey.

Registered Nurse, RNC, MSN

My entire nursing career has been within the neonatal field including roles as staff RN in well-baby and NICU settings, faculty member for baccalaureate nursing students, parent/staff education, and neonatal transport. I’ve lived and worked in several states including Mississippi, Colorado, Louisiana, Georgia, Texas, and now North Carolina. The past 25 years I have worked directly with families in their home as they adjust to life with a newborn(s).  My clients have included NICU grads, multiples/special needs, and well newborns, moms with postpartum depression, perinatal loss, breast-feeding, and unique family settings. My education and credentials are educational degrees BSN, MSN, licensure as a RN, and professional certifications as a NICU nurse and NNP (both now inactive). I have remained current and have the years of experience to differentiate between trends/fads and evidence based practices.
